OSU-Tulsa Gets a Big Gift

From KOTV

OSU-Tulsa is celebrating a big gift. The university received a $9-million pledge Wednesday from the Helmerich Foundation.

The money will be used to build OSU-Tulsa's first research and technology development center. Walter and Peggy Helmerich hope the facility will take OSU-Tulsa to new levels of achievement and will make a difference in Tulsa and around the world.

Walter Helmerich with the Helmerich Foundation: "The Lord has blessed Peggy and me with a wonderful family and also with the ability to help sometimes in other things and that's why this is important to us."

Construction will begin in October. It will be called the Helmerich Advanced Technology Research Center. OSU hopes to have it open by the fall of 2007.

I am chagrined and embarassed at the poor grammar and spelling in some of these blogs. The word is... "gets"..it is not "get's"...there is no such word in the English language....please, please, you people; the impact and veracity of your blog is dependent upon your ability to communicate....

As the parent of six college graduates including two from OSU, I hope the creator of this one is not a graduate out of Stillwater....this is spelling which one learns in the third grade....

Really? You think a negative attitude like that is helpful? Mistakes are made. This blog is done in the few spare seconds I have in the day, and only because of my love for downtown. If I made a mistake, please let me know, but keep the attitude to yourself. I am “chagrined and embarrassed” that you think such attitude is helpful.

PS, you missed a “r” in embarrassed.
